ABSTRACT:
5 pages in length. Among varying sociological beliefs, the role of class in society represents both a positive and negative force. The general consensus is that class often gets in the way of a thriving society, because it places a great many demands on the inhabitants. These demands, say some sociologists represent part of the very downfall many societies have experienced. The writer discusses how Karl Marx and Max Weber may have shared common philosophies on some levels yet when it came to class theories, they both harbored their own interpretation. Bibliography lists 3 sources.
